Balboa Park Engagement Session | Bree & Blake
Bree and Blake reached out for some last-minute engagement photos, prior to their anniversary dinner reservation, and I was so excited! These two are just the sweetest people, and so great in front of the camera. We decided on Balboa Park around sunset on a weekend.. IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW! I absolutely love how these photos turned out.
San Diego Engagement Photography
I love engagement sessions at Balboa Park in San Diego. There is such a variety of natural elements and architecture, and you can get so many different feels in just one session! For Bree and Blake’s engagement session, we knew we wanted locations featuring Spanish architecture with the arches and sand tones it’s so well known for, so we decided to split the session between two different areas of the park: Casa del Rey Moro Garden and Casa del Prado. We started the session in the garden with its lush greenery and then made our way to Casa del Prado as the sun started to go down. There’s just something magical about the shadows those arches cast as the sun sets!
Engagement Session Styling
When it comes to styling for your engagement session, it’s so important that you coordinate with your partner but don’t match! By this, I mean staying in the same color palette without wearing the same thing (ie, both wearing jeans and a white top). Bree and Blake did a phenomenal job coordinating their outfits, with Bree’s ivory dress and Blake’s classic white button-down with khakis. Their outfits look intentional without feeling forced, and it really elevates the images. Bree was an absolute pro walking around the park all evening in her heels, but for those of us who aren’t, feel free to bring a backup pair of shoes! Crocs if you will.
This session was an absolute dream and I’m so grateful to have finally met Bree’s fiancé! If you’re looking for a romantic engagement session in Balboa Park, let’s connect!
